Turbo EM2 is road worthy again
With a turn of the ignition, the turbo whistles. As the driver plays with the throttle to hear that oh so beautiful sound he hasnt heard for a year.
Haha, naw Tim's the writer, not me. Anyway, so Guillermo and myself finished the EM2 and it is road worthy again! But the clearance is the Devil's spawn itself (Honda, thanks for making tiny engine bays that give the EM2 almost close to no potential when routing I/C piping). We started to work at around 9ish and finished at 6 (Just in time for dinner). But let me tell you, when we took it for a drive as soon as we finished it, I didn't think a single cam Honda can pull like G-mos EM2 did. Coming out of Timber Trails I'm expecting a slow creep to the next entrance, then next thing you know torques steer overcomes the steering wheel and faster than anything G-mo slams the shifter into second breaking the front tires loose and wheel hopping like a little bitch (definitely needs mounts). That car went from not to sixty in probably around 7-8 seconds maybe even faster. Not bad for a single cam D-series with a pieced together turbo kit huh? The next best thing is, the EM2 is also autox worthy now! Especially since he can make full right turns, and the axle isn't rubbing on a charge pipe. Still need to fix that trans leak that douchebag from Fusion S Performance never fixed and zip tie the loose lines and splash guards.
Well, this weekend was a successful one for SoSick Motorsports, i will bring the sticker design to the vinyl place tomorrow and get a quote. Until then, see you at the finish line..

Honda
So wish me luck, it's 8:09 a.m. central and Im waiting for Guillermo, who by the way is on 30 mins of sleep, to get here so we could fix the charge pipes in the EM2. Man, that thing is in some need of TLC. At 4ooo RPM's the thing wont hit a ilbs. of boost. Massive boost leak, but we will fix this today if it takes the whole day.

Aggravated.
There are cars that get me aggravated after working on them. So a friend of mine drives a 95 Galant (7G). It was handed down to him by his older brother Patrick. The car seems so clean and mint when you look at it but when you get under it and actually work on it, it is really fucked up. I mean the left upper control arm in the front is somehow ghetto rigged onto the unibody. We tried lowering it with Megan Springs but damn, nothing. I feel like a serious noob after working on that car because I seriously cant find any reason why the passenger side shock wont sit properly. ugh. Icing on the cake, the rear springs were the wrong ones apparently. So as of now, Kevin's 7G is still sitting with a rake, (which annoys me) I feel like I failed a friend. Ugh.

Buh bye Audi!
Sold the Audi tonight for $1000. Uncle threw me a couple hundred bones for doing all the run around, posting ads, and talking to potential buyers. As much as he wanted it out, I could tell from the look of his eyes he didn't want to let it go. As soon as the 12V V6 started up again after sitting for two years, I could see the love he once had for the car in his eyes. I hope he jumps in another VW or Audi, I want to see that sparkle in his eyes again.

TGCIL meet.
Yesterday was probably one of the most fun days I've had in the past year. Tim, Tegan, and I went to a Galant meet. It was great time with great people. I really appreciate Tegan and Tim coming. Tegan the most, because for her, I was sure it was a little awkward to be hanging out with a buncha boys talking about theeir useless drivel about their cars. But she was a trooper, and stood around for nearly six hours. She told me she had fun so I was really excited. It's important to me that she understands my obssession and is willing to support me.
Anyways, I took a lot of pictures, but I'm too lazy to post it so I will leave a link instead.

Where's the love?
Midwest racers are a buncha haters. Jeeze. Don't dare to be different in the midwest area when it comes to racing or cars. Unless it's a Honda, 240, Evo, or an STi, midwest racers will never accept you. you will never fit in.
I don't care, call me the nerd that no one talks to but the Galant will become something crazy one day and midwest racers will just have to deal with it.

WTF?!
There are two kinds of tuners. Backyard builders and "Paid for" builders. I know both kinds. I'm the backyard builder type. I dump a ridiculous amount of cash on parts and an even more ridiculous amount of time and energy installing and tuning them. Making sure they are set-up for optimal performance and making sure it is a clean install.
I'm trying to make a point here so bear with me.
Now there are the "paid for" builder type. They dump ridiculous amounts of cash at a shop doing the work for them. Only thing about these shops are, some know what they are doing, and some don't. Some shops are honest and some shops aren't. You never want to drop your car off at a shop that will ghetto-rig parts to fit. You want quality work, especially for the THOUSANDS of dollars you will spend for parts and labor. So bungee cords, and plumber materials don't cut it shop technicians.
I'm not saying the latter type is the wrong way to go before there are a lot of respected shops out there that have proven themselves, AMS, Buschur, RMR, etc.
But my point, pick up a wrench folks. Start slow, install bolt-ons, then experiment with wiring, then move on to building motors. Now, obviously its not as easy as it sounds, it takes a lot of commitment, practice, and research. Read-up and learn how to do it yourself. Because at the end of the day no one will work on your car the way you want to but yourself.
My Galant: Built with my own blood, sweat, and tears. Not to mention it has been emptying my pocket since 2005.
ugh. water
Basement's flooded. ugh. Have you ever woken up and know it was going to be a frustrating day? I did, when I stepped into a pool of water in my room this morning. Fuck you Ike!

Why I do what I do.
"It takes all your money, all your time, and all of your energy"
Ever since I was 3 years-old, cars have been the only thing to calm me down and get me excited at the same time. At this age, I was able to name the make, model, year, and on most cars I was able to identify the motor and trans. I'm not going to spill out my guts and wirte about my life story. But, I will write about my "love" story with cars.
Most people dont understand my obsession with cars, handling, and speed itself. It sets me free to be perfectly honest. Thats a cliche most people use when it comes to some of their desires but it's true. When I'm behind the wheel, it's like I'm on top of the world. No one else matters, and everyone is just watching. My car is my personality, when it's down and out, I'm down and out.
I build my car not to be the fastest, nor the best looking. I simply build it for my own sick and simple pleasure. Looking at it and saying "I did that" or "I fixed it myself" is more of an accomplishment to me than let's say my high school graduation. It's just the greatest feeling to me when it starts after twelve hours of work.
I'm still striving to build it to most of my likings. My latest project I am currently working to save up for and dreaming of is the coveted 5-speed swap. Driving the slushy automatic is like walking on crutches. Roll races suck due to the inability of the trans to downshift when I want it to, and no heel-toeing possible here. Let's just say I push it into the entrance of the corner because if I don't I wont be able to pull through the rest of the corner because I'm not putting the power down on the pavement efficiently enough to come out of the exit the fastest I can. I'm also going to tackle to restore and upgrade the suspension for autocross and time attack duty. Right now, the Galant is actually sitting on Tein SS-P coilovers in which does the job on the street and "spirited" driving, but it lacks in rear-end stability at times due to the ridiculously soft spring rate in the back. Still searching for that perfect spring rate to keep the rear from bouncing. Sway bars are next in line for the suspension department as I am searching for the best sway bar that will keep the car from rolling during tight corners.
Not even going to lie, when i'm done with this car, I will probably build another one. Because as I said before I've been in love with cars since I was three and ever since I got the Galant, I know I will have a couple of them. After the I4 is built, boosting 40 psi, killing bimmers on the track, and giving V8's a run for their money on the 1320, I'm going to build a 6G74 swapped 8G and do it V.I.P. style!
Done for now, I like this blogging thing, it's nice to be able to put my thoughts down without having to look like a nut talking to myself.

So it starts
So I am going to start my build page right here on my blog. I will throw in a couple of non-car related blogs on here randomly, but mostly I will be posting updates of my 5-speed swap, SoSick Motorsports news, and whatever car-related things I feel should be on here.
5-speed news,
I am going to start collecting parts for the 5-speed swap and I am hoping I will purchase the flywheel from a member at chitowndsm on monday.
we will see.
I have a check list in my room, hopefully by my birthday I will be shifting gears.
